Allergies & Skin Diseases
Allergies are a heightened and inappropriate immune-response from the body to certain external stimuli. It can be frustrating at times to deal with chronic allergies. They are commonly treated with cycles of steroids, and antibiotics. Throw in some antihistamines and couple of newer anti-inflammatories like apoquel.. you get the whole picture. These are not inherently bad ideas, especially to control some acute out-of-control situations. The problem becomes when these treatments are repeated again and again and again. . One highly respected professor of internal medicine at Colorado Veterinary college once said, if you have approached a problem twice the same way and it is not going away, think of something else. A wise idea indeed!
