Asthma/Chronic Respiratory
Both dogs and cats can suffer from chronic cough and shortness of breath. In our area heartworm is a real risk and it is important to rule out heartworms in dogs as soon as possible. However, beyond that many dogs suffer from chronic cough (many times these get written off as Kennel cough) from chronic bronchitis. Cats suffer from feline asthma. The steroid injections work in the beginning, but eventually the pet needs more and more of it. We've had a fair degree of success of using herbs to control the majority of the symptoms and then topping it off with a minimal dose of medications. Herbal Medicine has been a big help for us in these cases. We can keep steroid use at bay or to a minimum.
